Carson
Picking a featured band this month was hard, I waded through
a lot of fantastic (and not so fantastic) unsigned bands before I thought of
this one. I heard them a few months band and knew almost right away I wanted to
feature them at some point.
From Charlotte, North Caroline is Alternative rock band Carson. This 5 piece band formed in 2009 and released their first EP in 2011 with producer Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, Alesana). I kind of feel like I’m on a streak of featuring bands with female vocals, I can’t help it though, a lot of these chicks fucking rock and if you listen to Carson you’ll see what I mean. It’s not just the vocals though, the music is all around tight. | The Used
 A band that’s been around for just over a decade, The Used plan to release their 5th studio album at the end of March. To celebrate the new CD as well as the band’s liberation from Warner Music Group, we’ve decided to feature them for the month of March. Marching forward (I stopped myself from typing the word boldly in there) with their new Anger Music Group and partnering with Hopeless Records, I think we can expect more than ever from this band. The Used is a band that plays what they want and they don’t give a fuck, which seemed to be a point of contention between them and WMG. I’m honestly excited to hear the new album and anything else this band comes out with. Maybe Memories - The Used (old school, awe yeah)
